Assassin Targets CEO: The Cost of Corporate Greed

Yesterday morning a lone assassin targeted and killed the CEO of United Health Care:

We don’t know the motive. But, the clues left at the scene give us a pretty big hint. Namely: three bullet cases with the words “deny”, “depose”, and “delay”. It seems to me this individual acted out of revenge for someone who got screwed by the insurer.

I think this lone gunman’s actions are suddenly making CEO’s rethink their Scrooge like ways. Just the next day we now see Blue Cross Anthem – a major Health care insurance provider – reversing a draconian and poorly thought out policy to screw over patients and doctors:

If we can’t rely on our government to protect us and ensure fairness and equity – we’re going to see a lot more vigilante’s doing it for us. I always remember this quote when I see things like this happen:

“I was always willing to be reasonable until I had to be unreasonable. Sometimes reasonable men must do unreasonable things.”

– Marvin Heemeyer

Greedy CEOs – particularly of Healthcare companies should remember that line.
