Back Online Again!

So, life has been busy this year and I neglected entirely my personal blog and website.

Upon returning, I discovered the server’s MySQL back end decided to kill my database in an upgrade. This site worked perfectly for almost 15 years on the same WordPress installation. But, it finally died tragically from an automated MySQL minor point upgrade:

2024-11-30T20:07:25.074296Z 4 [System] [MY-013381] [Server] Server upgrade from '80036' to '80037' started.

Thanks Oracle! We get it you don’t want us to use MySQL.

I did try to fix it. I did try thread_stack=256K and many, many other solutions to solve the issue. After a couple of hours, I realized that the old site didn’t have a lot worth salvaging. I decided to trash it and start over.

Sometimes a good house cleaning is just the thing.

Honestly, it was time to upgrade the site and start over. So, I am, and here we are. More to come soon!
